Use of Artificial Intelligence in Pre-Assessment
As part of the application and submission process, Digital Schools Awards uses an Artificial Intelligence system to carry out an automated preliminary review of materials submitted by you, including documents, links and written content. The AI Pre-Assessment is provided by a third-party AI provider established in the European Union (Mistral AI, headquartered in France).
Content submitted for AI Pre-Assessment is processed by our authorised AI service provider for the purpose of generating AI-assisted feedback. Further information about how personal data is processed is set out in our Privacy Policy.
The AI Pre-Assessment is provided as an optional support tool to assist applicants in reviewing and improving their evidence prior to submission for final human validation. The AI Pre-Assessment is intended for guidance purposes only and does not constitute a decision, assessment, accreditation or award by Digital Schools Awards. No rights, entitlements or expectations arise from the AI Pre-Assessment.
AI Output Disclaimer and Human Oversight
You acknowledge and agree that:
- By selecting the AI Pre-Assessment option within the Portal, you request that your submitted materials be processed through the AI Pre-Assessment system for the purpose of generating preliminary feedback.
- The AI Pre-Assessment is generated automatically and may be incomplete, inaccurate, out of date or otherwise unsuitable for any particular purpose.
- The AI Pre-Assessment is indicative only and is not authoritative.
- All final decisions in relation to your submission, application, accreditation or award status are taken by a human appointed by Digital Schools Awards, who is not bound by the AI Pre-Assessment and may agree with, disregard, or override it in whole or in part.
- Digital Schools Awards makes no representation or warranty as to the accuracy, reliability, completeness or fitness for purpose of any AI-generated output and accepts no liability arising from your reliance on it.
Your Responsibility for Submitted Content
You remain solely responsible for the accuracy, legality and completeness of all documents, links and written content you submit for AI Pre-Assessment or final validation. In particular;
- You must not submit any content that you are not legally entitled to share, including third-party personal data, confidential information or material protected by intellectual property rights, unless you have the necessary permissions.
- You should avoid submitting personal data relating to pupils, staff or third parties unless such information is necessary for the purpose of the submission and you have an appropriate legal basis for doing so.
- You must not deliberately attempt to manipulate, mislead or circumvent the AI Pre-Assessment, including through prompt injection, hidden instructions or falsified content.
Right to Withdraw or Modify the AI Pre-Assessment
Digital Schools Awards reserves the right, at its sole discretion and without notice, to suspend, withdraw, modify or replace the AI Pre-Assessment, the underlying AI provider, or scope of materials subject to AI Pre-Assessment. Continued use of the website following any such change constitutes acceptance of the change.
